Somali Elders' Project

The Somali Elders’ Project is a collaboration between EJT and Servicelinks, with significant involvement from a number of other organisations.

Research conducted in the community by Servicelinks and others demonstrated clearly that there was a growing number of elderly Somalis with considerable unmet social needs.

Specific problems include isolation, poor housing and illnesses such as diabetes. The Project runs a lunch club for elderly Somalis with the aims of providing a social gathering with nutritious food and the opportunity to receive advice about health, housing and safety.
