Somali Education Project

EJT is committed to raising achievement among the young people of the inner city, especially the Somali community whose unique history of suffering and economic, social and geographical dislocation has led to severe disadvantage.

For several years this commitment has therefore been focused in our Somali Education Project, which since 2005 has been generously sponsored by BBC Children in Need, with more recent support from the Quartet Foundation.

This project has two main components:
(1) The after school classes, which are based at Muller Hall in Seymour Road, Easton and run every week (during school terms)
(2) One-to-one tutoring and mentoring of local young people and adults by personal tutors, which happens in local homes throughout

      the year
