Sewing Club

In January 2011, we started a sewing and crafts club for women in Easton. We meet every week for a 10 week course, with 1:2 support from an all-female group of trainers, in an informal, friendly setting. We look at basic sewing skills for making women’s wear, children’s wear and soft furnishings. Later on we will offer crafts such as patchwork, applique, stencilling and more. We were given a start-up grant from Quartet Grassroots fund which enabled us to buy the equipment we needed. In the long-term, we hope to encourage participants to train others so that the project becomes sustainable.
